  • Content and learning outcomes
    In today’s digital landscape, storytelling is more than just words on a page – it’s an immersive experience that blends visuals, sound, and interactivity for captivate audiences. This course delves into the art of digital storytelling, equipping you with the skills to craft engaging and dynamic narratives that resonate across multiple platforms.
    Through a fusion of visual design, interactivity, and multimedia production, you will explore a variety of storytelling formats, integrating elements such as animation, soundscapes, photography, and motion graphics to create compelling and immersive experiences. The course places equal emphasis on concept development and technical execution, ensuring that your final projects are both creatively compelling and technically refined.
    Your journey will culminate in the creation of a three-minute personal story, developed as an interactive microsite. This hands-on project will challenge you to apply digital storytelling techniques, multimedia integration, and content production workflows to bring your unique narrative to life in an innovative and engaging format.

  • Learning objectives
    Knowledge
    The student will have:
    • Understanding about key theories in digital storytelling and content creation.
    • Insights into contemporary digital media trends and interactive experiences.
    • Knowledge of multimedia integration, including animation, sound and interactivity.

    The student will be able to:
    • Apply core visual and interactive storytelling techniques.
    • Use key design tools and software for digital content creation.
    • Evaluate and implement effective user experience and engagement strategies.

    Requirement for access to the exam
    The students must have actively participated in the teaching and completed the assignments given during the course.
    The prerequisites must be met at least 10 working days before the test date.
    Failure to meet the prerequisite means that the student cannot participate in the test, and a test attempt has been used.

    Formal requirements

    The student submits a portfolio before the test. The portfolio must include all assignments from the course, covering:

    • 3 photography assignments, as outlined and published on Moodle, as well as a photo reportage
    • A podcast on a topic of the student's choice, featuring at least two participants and demonstrating a conscious approach to sound design
    • 1 animation
    • 1 video

    25 minuts
    10 minutes are allocated for presentation and reflection, and 10 minutes for examination.
    An additional 5 minutes are allocated for deliberation and announcement of the grade.

    Oral test based on submitted work.
    The test is an individual portfolio test, in which the student submits the productions completed during the elective course.

    Assessment criteria
    The assessment criteria for the test are the learning objectives of the elective course. The test is internally assessed and a single overall individual grade is given for both the written submission and the oral examination according to the 7-point grading scale.

    Re-examination and re-examination due to illness
    Same rules apply as for the ordinary examination
    The re-examination and exam due to illness correspond to the regular exam format. The student will be given a new assignment with the same scope and formal requirements as the regular exam.
